The practice nurses specialise in looking after patients who have been diagnosed with long term conditions (e.g. diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, COPD etc). They can also provide family planning and contraception services, smoking cessation advice, health checks, immunisations and travel vaccinations and can deal with many general health questions.

Appointments for Postnatal examinations, Child six week development checks, Antenatal examinations, Diabetic Checks and cervical smears should NOT be booked online. These consultations require longer appointments which need to be booked through a receptionist.

Chaperone

Both female and male patients may ask for a chaperone at any time when they are consulting our doctors, nurses and clinical staff. In the same way our doctors, nurses and clinical staff may ask for another member of staff to be present as a chaperone during a consultation.

Home Visits

Home visits are only offered to patients who are too ill to come to the surgery and they are at the doctors’ discretion. Lack of transport is not grounds for asking for a home visit. They are usually made after morning surgery except in emergencies.

We encourage requests for home visits to be made before 10.30am

Requests for non-urgent visits received after this time may be deferred to the next day at the Duty Doctor’s discretion.

Late For Your Appointment

Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late you may not be seen. If you are not seen you will not be able to rearrange your appointment until the next working day-except in the event of an medical emergency that requires immediate attention.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
